Hampshire, UK - We regret to announce the death in June of Richard Comley, managing director of Comley Demolition in Hampshire, a prominent and well-liked member of the National Federation of Demolition Contractors who also strongly promoted the reuse of salvaged materials, and was a supporter of Salvo, and the Salvo Code, which his reclaimed timber division Comley Lumber Centre, now Comley Reclaim, joined in 1997.

Goodbye to one of the industry's nice guys … Richard Comley was virtually unique among demolition men: a curious mix of studied expertise that made him the envy of his peers; and a boyish enthusiasm that made him seem like you'd known him all your life … demolition will be a less cheerful place without him.
Richard was a leading member of the Institute of Demolition Engineers and the National Demolition Training Group. He leaves Julia, his wife, daughter Jennifer and son Toby.
Donations are welcome to Richard's desired charity, Bright Research.
