George Lamb's home is full of salvage

By Ruby Hazael

Living etc November 2012: The guest bedroom in George Lamb's London home, designed using salvage by Retrouvius

London North, UK - This month's Living Etc magazine features radio dj and tv presenter George Lamb's flat in London. With some help of reclamation design experts Retrouvius, he has overhauled his Georgian masionette in North London.

The kitchen has upside glass lab funnels as lampshades and an old enamel topped table. Old train luggage shelves are used in the kitchen and bedroom and pew backs are stacked together to make mini shelves for a collection of postcards.

Reclaimed parquet has been laid throughout and a stripy painted Geographers pole is used as a handrail for the stairs. Retrouvius organised cladding the guest bedroom walls with a mix of painted timber flooring from a village hall and dark salvaged tropical hardwood.

George Lamb was overjoyed when he visited Retrouvius and realised that they not only sold architectural salvage and furniture but also offered an interior design service. 'There wasn't a bum note in the place!'

Living Etc's November 2012 issue is on sale now.

Retrouvius is a member of the Salvo Code.

Where is reclaimed flooring heading?
