Thompsons demolish that Get Carter car park

By Thornton Kay

Tyne and Wear, UK - Thompsons of Prudhoe are finally demolishing Owen Luder's Trinity Centre multi-storey car park in Gateshead, famously used by director, Mike Hodges, of the film Get Carter when London gangland villain Michael Caine's character, Jack Carter, threw local crime boss, Cliff Brumby, off it to his death.

Attempts made by film fans to save the iconic 1960s brutalist concrete building from the wrecking snippers failed, and it has finally succumbed.

See Thompson's time lapse video for week one of the demo.
