London North, UK - The UK-GBC's report on the future of BREEAM is out on 9 August 2010.
'Most significantly, the report calls for greater transparency of data and the need to integrate operational performance into certification. This hopes to reduce the discrepancies between initial energy calculations and final energy use during occupation.
The report also recommended that BREEAM considers:
* Reviewing minimum standards for performance
* Implementing greater transparency in relation to material lifecycles in the Green Guide
* Clarifying building performance on BREEAM certificates
* Allowing the data from BREEAM results to be made publically available
* Ensuring transparency relating to future strategies to help industry prepare for changes
* Improving customer service and online facilities
* Developing a scheme suitable for retrofit projects'
