Three exciting statues from Offaly in Sotheby's London sale

Co Offaly, Ireland (Rep.) - Three nineteenth century neo-classical statues were found last March in Annaghmore House in Tullamore, Co Offaly. They are expected to sell for more than €300,000 at a Sotheby's sale. Two of the statues were made in Antonio Canova's workshop in Rome. The third, commissioned by a man from Mayo on his Grand Tour, is called Die Spinnerin and was made by Rudolf Schadow. The 'European Sculpture and Works of Art' sale is on Thursday 8th July in London.
