London West, UK - Day 5 to day 18 of my reclaimed renovation has been a whirlwind. One minute I am fishing in Florida and the next I am back in London, facing torrential downpours and treading water - swimming in salvage dilemmas, vertical, without sufficient directional thrust to propel me into a specific direction. Breathe. Finally over the jet-lag and I am ready to go fishing again, so Join me at the Fishing Cottage on the lake of Knebworth Park and I will show you my salvaged kitchen starting to take shape…
Home to sustainable planning and design duo, Chau and Andy of Ecovril, this couple have saved me from drowning. A few months ago my reclaimed rod caught gymnasium floorboards from a girl's school (circa. 1910) near Berlin, by way of Historische Bauelemente. The starting inspiration for my reclaimed kitchen, I saved these beauties to style as my kitchen cabinets. I am also now the proud owner of Chau and Andy's wood burning stove, which is rather appropriately decorated with anchors, and where I rested my Manolos.
