Norfolk, UK - Around 40 enamel signs made top billing in the 520 lots of a typical mix including many ancient bicycles and old tools at the regular rural and domestic bygones sale at Gaze of Diss on Saturday.

Top sign, and top lot at the sale, was a 30ins by 24ins yellow and black sign for Frederick W. Fitt household removals of Rose Lane Norwich in average condition nicely illustrated with a pitcure of horse-drawn wagon which sold for 480 (plus buyers premium). Next, at 300, was an illustrated 20ins by 30ins Batey's John Bull's favourite ginger beer illustrated in colour with a large pictorial of John Bull. Third was a double-sided Blackfriars Cigar and Faulkners Nosegay 24ins by 16ins which sold for 220.

Among the higher lots were a nice set of very old oak knees which sold for 200 and a cast iron Midland & Great Northern railway boundary marker which went for the same price.

The percentage sold was 86%. Next sale is an architectural salvage sale traditionally held on the Saturday after Salvo Fair, followed by a modern design on the following Saturday.
