"Best year ever at Salvo 2015. New customers and a great venue. McAlpines were very welcoming"
Andy Triplow, Old Radiator Co
"Fabulous Salvo Fair 2015. Spectacular new location was fantastic. Turned up with 20 tonnes of salvage. Delighted with high- calibre customers. Great atmosphere on all three days"
Anthony Reeve, Lassco
"Fantastic fair. Venue, hosts and weather terrific. Ironhenge displays showed salvage at its best, with thought and hard work repaid by good trade sales on the Friday, and more of the same over the weekend. I'm already planning the stand for next year!"
Saxon Durrant, Metro Retro
NEW STANDS FOR 2016
Premium stands will be in the oval around Ironhenge near the fair entrance with the mid-priced Avenue below, as in 2015. New for 2016 is the Market for smaller pitches and specialist one-man dealers. The number of exhibitors will be capped at 80.
Friday's Trade Day goes from strength to strength with over a thousand buyers attending in 2015 including dealers, design professionals, builders, developers and consultants who can obtain a free ticket from January to the end of May. Visitors come from the UK, Europe, USA, Russia, Japan and Australia.
WHAT ELSE IS PLANNED FOR SALVO FAIR 2016?
This year we are celebrating women who work in salvage, and women customers whose discerning taste helps keep the salvage trade booming.
Exhibitors will be encouraged to bring big features, join the rummage and bring boxes of low value bits and pieces, and to bring more architectural and garden antiques and salvage. An auction of railwayana is being planned by the McAlpines.
Salvo Fair will be held at Fawley Hill for the second year running. Located in an affluent area the town of Henley-on- Thames, Fawley's event field easily stood up to Salvo Fair traffic which in 2015 included 25 artic loads of architectural salvage. Exhibitors were happy at the new venue with most covering costs or in profit by the end of Friday's Trade Day.
Fawley Hill is a private estate less than one hour west of London. It is home to Lady Judith and Sir William McAlpine who have been supporters of Salvo and the Salvo Fair since the 1990s. During Salvo Fair the private railway museum will be open as well as the two mile steam train ride.
Salvo Fair will be held a weekend earlier to avoid traffic at Henley Royal Regatta. Extra signage will be put up, and more maps and directions will be available on the fair website.
