TelAviv, Israel - Yoav Messer Architects have designed the winning proposal for a bridge that will run through Arial Shanon national park in Tel Aviv. The 160 metre long bridge is designed to be constructed from reused shipping containers, of which more than 800,000, according to Arch Daily, are made redundant every year.

The bridge will be used by pedestrians, shuttle buses and bicycles. It will be supported by only four legs to minimise its impact on the ground. Some containers will be placed perpendicular to the length of the bridge to provide viewing platforms and places to rest.

The bridge will span a river running through a new national park being created in a old urban rubbish site.
