Norfolk, UK - Robert Kinsella took the reigns at Gaze's architectural sale on Saturday from Carl Willows, who popped in during the morning, for what Rob described as a very good sale, with interest from U.S. buyers with around half trade and half private bidders.

The top lot, some mahogany panelling estimated at 400-600 was bought by a trade bidder from Norwich for 1,900 plus premiums, so it stayed local. Mr. Kinsella was also pleased with the sale of a few lots of early stonework, some familiar-looking mullions and windows from Somerleyton Hall.

Eight cast iron supports for a tree seat fetched a double estimate 1,200, and two wrought iron triple seats made 440 and 480, a teak bridge sold for 390, six cast iron gothic windows 360, a rose tunnel 440, a pair of gothic stone window surrounds with diamond leaded lights 380, a brown pine chimneypiece 480, a fine Chinese lantern 850, a copy of a cast iron deer owned by the Prince of Denmark (not Hamlet) 640, some 16thC oak floorboards 580, a stone mounting block 850 and a grand pair of iron gates 1,000.

The next trade sale at Gaze is Modern Design on Saturday 13 June
