Hobson summerhouse was top lot at Gaze

Pair of chimneypots sold for nearly 600 [photo Gaze

Norfolk, UK - The J T Hobson revolving summerhouse with original folding table at Gaze's architectural salvage sale last Saturday, featured in last week's eSalvo newsletter, sold for a low estimate 3,910 (inc buyer's premium).

A Twyford's WC pan 'The Deluge' sold for 115 (est 20), a pair of pine garden benches with cast iron giraffe ends from Colechester Zoo fetched a low estimate 253, a mobile iron mini greenhouse or a large cloche sold for 748 (est 400), a pair of heavily moulded downdraft preventer octagonal chimneypots sold for 598 (est 200).

The Rothschild estate cupboard (no photo) mentioned last week was the second highest lot and sold for 1,600, and the Edwardian revolving door (photo last week) sold for a bargain 322.

A quantity of rectangular white marble sold at 22sqm, and 12inch pamments sold at 7 - 8 each in batches of 44 to 84.

The 19thC hatter's sign of the hat (see last week's eSalvo photo) sold for 414, estimated at 100.

A total of 534 out of 732 lots were sold, around 73% by lot.
