North Yorkshire, UK - Joan Porter from the ATG reports that, 'Arthur Swallow's previously announced new specialist fair, the two-day Restoration and Salvage Show, to be launched at the Harrogate Show-ground on September 11 and 12, has unfortunately been cancelled.
Arthur Swallow director Richard Burgoin said, "The contracts were signed, the publicity posters and advertising were out, and we had nearly half of the 100 maximum bookings, but unfortunately there were a lot of difficulties at the show-ground, many of the unforeseen. But we are very committed to holding this fair next year in the North of England, somewhere near Harrogate, as there is nothing like this in the north and we think it will be a real draw."
Richard stressed that he s not in competition with the annual Salvo Fair held at Knebworth Park and for his part Thornton Kay of Salvo takes the "more the merrier" view about another architectural salvage fair in the calendar.
