Lot 5314: A cast iron and copper washing machine with fly wheel sold for £220

Norfolk, UK - Held on 31 July at 10am, Roydon Road, Diss, Norfolk.

Carl Willows of Gaze Auctioneers said, "Bygones sale again attracted a huge audience, gathered from around the country and abroad. Highlights were treen, some nice early pieces including a rare 18th Century Davis's quadrant selling at £1376. Lowlights were enamel signs despite some early examples. A French cast iron and enamelled stove which had failed to sell at £250 in the last Architectural sale this time made £458. Among more traditional 'Bygones' an Edwardian copper washing machine took £252, a display of poaching equipment £230, Norfolk fen land duck gun £206 and two Quorn custard tins £126. All quickly cleared out ready for Architectural items flooding in for next sale 21st August."
